Pharmaconic for ENT Practices: Compounded Nasal Rinse Capsules, Combination Irrigation Therapy, and Simple Ordering
Sinus irrigation with added medication is a routine part of ENT care, but the preparation falls on the patient. Someone has to crush a tablet, add a second ingredient, measure it into a bottle, and hope an oil-based ointment such as mupirocin mixes into water. Every extra step is another chance for a dosing error, a missed ingredient, or a patient who gives up on the regimen.
Pharmaconic is a pharmacist-owned compounding pharmacy that prepares patient-specific formulations. For ENT practices, we can combine the ingredients you prescribe for a nasal rinse into one capsule. Here is what we offer and how we can take the mixing off your patients and your staff.
One Capsule, Every Ingredient You Prescribe
Many irrigation regimens call for more than one ingredient, for example an antibiotic with an antifungal, or two agents together. We compound the ingredients you select into a single capsule. The patient follows three steps:
- Open the capsule.
- Pour the contents into the nasal rinse bottle.
- Rinse as directed on the label.
Nothing to crush, nothing to measure out, and no stack of separate products on the bathroom counter.
What This Removes From Your Patient’s Routine
- No crushing. Patients do not have to crush tablets or open several capsules to build a rinse.
- No juggling multiple items. Several ingredients are combined into one capsule, so the patient handles one product per rinse.
- No dosing math at home. The pharmacist prepares each capsule to the strength and combination you prescribe, so the patient does not measure out portions.
- No oil-based ointment problem. Ointments such as mupirocin do not dilute properly in water. Mupirocin is available as a capsule on our order form, so there is no ointment to stir into a bottle.
What You Can Prescribe
Our ENT Allergy Order Form lists each option with a strength and form, so selecting is a checkbox and a signature. Every option below can be ordered on its own, and your combinations are prepared as you specify.

- Gentamicin 80 mg
- Vancomycin 200 mg
- Tobramycin 100 mg
- Levofloxacin 100 mg
- Azithromycin 70 mg

Mucolytic for irrigation

Related options
- Betahistine dihydrochloride capsules: 8 mg, 16 mg, or 48 mg
- Ketotifen capsules: 1 mg or 2 mg, in quantities of 100 or 200 capsules
Each section also has a custom line. If you want a different strength, ingredient, or combination, write it in or call us and a pharmacist will review it with you.
A Simple Order Form
The form is built so your staff can complete it quickly:
- Choose the medication and strength from each category, or add a custom line.
- Select a quantity: a 30-day or 60-day supply.
- Add your sig, and mark refills as PRN or none.
- Add the nasal rinse bottle if the patient needs one. It is $10 on the form.
- Use the additional instructions line for anything the pharmacist should know.
Patient allergies and intolerances are captured at the top of the form, and the pharmacist reviews every prescription before it is prepared.
How It Works
1. Order. Complete the ENT Allergy Order Form and send it by email, fax, or e-prescribe.
2. Confirm. Our pharmacist reviews the prescription, checks the combination, and contacts your office if anything needs clarification.
